- Sign Language has grammar (a rule system) like any other verbal language.
- There is not a single Sign Language in the world (Every country has it’s own).
- Like verbal language Sign Languages have regional varieties (dialects).
- Sign Language is not only used by those who are deaf (those who are hearing use it too! i.e. Sign Language interpreters, children of deaf adults (CODA) hearing parents of deaf children and those who are hearing that want to communicate with those who are Deaf).
- ASL (American Sign Language) is the third most used Language is the United States.
- ASL is a foreign Language.

- Those who are Deaf tend to be more direct ( Deaf people can be direct with comments and questions about topics that hearing people often consider rude).
- Those who are Deaf are in fact better drivers than those who are Hearing (According to statistics compiled by the National Association of the Deaf and the U.S. government, Deaf drivers tend to be better drivers than hearing people. Because of less distractions while driving and studies have shown that those who are Deaf have better peripheral vision than those who are hearing).
